{"id":7820,"date":"2019-10-10T06:39:40","date_gmt":"2019-10-10T08:39:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sakralilietuva.lt\/object\/mickunu-koplytstulpis\/"},"modified":"2019-12-10T08:41:24","modified_gmt":"2019-12-10T10:41:24","slug":"mickunu-koplytstulpis","status":"publish","type":"property","link":"https:\/\/sakralilietuva.lt\/en\/lankytinos-vietos\/mickunu-koplytstulpis\/","title":{"rendered":"Chapel Pole of Mick\u016bnai"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The chapel pole in Mick\u016bnai village, Anyk\u0161\u010diai district, is very untypical to this region &#8211; the chapel poles of low, stumpy silhouette were wider spread in Samogitia, while slim, tall, richly decorated roof poles dominated the region of Auk\u0161taitija. There were very few chapel poles in Auk\u0161taitija, especially of the open type att the end of the 19<sup>th <\/sup>century &#8211; the beginning of the 20<sup>th<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n<p>The chapel pole is in the courtyard of the country house. This piece of minor folk architecture was erected in 1907, and the chapel was glazed later in 1969, after the restoration of the chapel pole.<\/p>\n<p>The chapel of a rectangular layout with turned corner columns, glazed walls and cross-shaped eight-sided roof is mounted on a pole with an irregularly circular base made of a natural debarked tree trunk. The bottom and top of the chapel are edged with profiled cornices and a wall plank carved with geometric ornaments. The chapel is glazed on all four sides, the window frames and partitions are wooden, as is the cross that decorates the top of the chapel. All four facades end with small triangular pediments projecting above the glazed part. A sculpture of Christ carrying the cross is inside the chapel.
