Thus, the tree was the abode of the gods and became the material that was used to build the first churches in Lithuania.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Wooden architecture is a very important part of Lithuania&#8217;s architectural image and heritage. It is a chronicle of the unique history of our nation, reflecting the uniqueness of local building traditions and regional architecture. The diversity of our sacred architecture is complemented by buildings of other religions and denominations: churches, synagogues, kenesas, mosques, crosses, roof poles, chapel poles, and chapels.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Thus, let us have a look at Lithuanian wooden churches both as prayer houses, and as a legacy representing how our ancestors perceived the
